I have several thousand images in the Index. They are updated within another application program (RoboHelp). When an image is replaced, obviously the old one is deleted and a new one is added. I'm having trouble finding an efficient way to find the deleted image in the Index. I know that a '?' appears on the image that has been deleted from disk. But is there a better way than reviewing thousands of images to find the one that displays the '?'.

I do know the specific name of the file which was deleted. And I know that the file name (for example, image3253.gif) is displayed in the lower left when I selected an image.  But how can I directly find 'image3253.gif' without scanning the entire Index?

Thanks for your help,

Karen

HI,

Can you please tell me what version you are working on ? (You can find it in the help--> about menu of the application)

The newer versions of My Photo Index shows a little disk icon on-top of the image when the image is missing(And not a '?')

The latest version is 1.23.

I can write a plug-in for you for finding missing files/thumbnails for the latest version.

Asaf.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I am using 1.23.3361.18147.  Yes, it is an icon rather than a '?'. Sorry. Is there an efficient way to find a deleted file in the Index when I know the file name?

Hi,

I've uploaded a new plug-in - you can download it from CodePlex : Find missing image files plugin

After downloading (11kb) please copy the file to the My Photo Index plugins directory (C:\program Files\MyPhotoIndex\My Photo Index\Plugins) and run My Photo index..

In the Tools-->Plugins there should now be a new entry - Find Missing image files.

Please tell me if this helps,

Asaf.
