I have just downloaded your program and am trying it out. Although I have just had a panic and had to stop it via task manager as I could not use the cancel button.
I thought the program was going to generate thumbnails of the photos and leave the originals in their current locations. But when it was taking quite a long time over a large tiff image I had a feeling it was actualy moving the image.
I did not change any of the settings from the default and when I look at the options I see "Delete images after successful transfer" was set to true.
Please can you confirm what is actualy happening? Most images could be moved but certain ones are used by other programs etc. and if they are moved there would be a problem.

Don't panic, Images are not moved they are just indexed,
indexing takes some time since the application generates 320x240 thumbnails.
The "Delete images after successful transfer" refers only to importing images from camera or removable drive.

You can try the 1.19 Beta which should have better import experience.
I have just tried the program again with version 1.19 and the import seemed a lot faster but I had a box saying something like "These images not indexed" in fact it was all the new images - about 1000 of them.
The only images I have indexed are the ones from version 1.18.
If I do individual folders from My Documents ( containing roughly 20 images ) all seems OK but if I do the whole of my documents containing 1100 images I get the error in the post above.
Do you mean that by selecting the folders manually (instead of using the 'Search common image locations') option,It works ok ?
can you please send me your log file from 'C:\Documents and Settings\__user__\local Settings\Application Data\MyPhotoIndex\myPhotoIndexLog.txt' ?
Maybe I can find something there.
I used the "Let me search locations manualy" the first time it failed was with My Documents and then it worked Ok selecting individual folders within My Documents.
I do not have that file :- 'C:\Documents and Settings\__user__\local Settings\Application Data\MyPhotoIndex\myPhotoIndexLog.txt' I have searched for it but it could not be found.
