From version 1.20 a desktop icon is created automatically,  Please check that you are using the latest version 1.21.3058(Help-About)

If you are running the latest version and a shortcut was not created then just drag the icon from the start menu or create a new shortcut for C:\Program Files\myPhotoIndex\My Photo Index\MyPhotoIndex.exe
