Using Tags Cross-Network

So I have a PC and a laptop and photos on both. I figured I'd do the ones ont he lappy, then the ones on the PC and then merge the two.

No can do... the tags don't follow across the network. Anything I import from the laptop into the PC is no longer tagged. Is there a way round this? And if not,  is there a way I can now remove this folder? Because the network folder isn't showing up in the folders list.

Thanks

Re: Using Tags Cross-Network

Hi, it is currently impossible to merge two indexes together, this can be done manually but it Will require some ms access knowledge and is not recommended. (I will put it in my list to make merge possible).

when using network drives, it is recommended to use a mapped drive and not a UNC path.

if you have images in the index that you wish to remove just select them and use right click--> delete to remove them from the index.

Asaf.

Re: Using Tags Cross-Network

I'm not sure which ones came from the network and which ones from the laptop though, because I can't see the drive.

And apologies, this was meant for the help section. Don't know how it ended up here.

Re: Using Tags Cross-Network

Hi, I can try and help you to remove them,

if you want you can email me the MyPhotoIndex.mdb file from :

C:\Documents and Settings\_User_\Local Settings\Application Data\MyPhotoIndex\Data\

and I will try to remove the records for you.

This file is an MS Access file which contains the list of files in the index.

Asaf.

Re: Using Tags Cross-Network

Thanks for the offer. Since I hadn't done anything with them I just uninstalled and started again :)
